There is a good supply of quality housing available in communities throughout the Gateway area. There has been a significant amount of new construction in recent years, particularly for people moving into the area for work.

Broadway Apartments, Moosomin

Moosomin

Two apartment blocks are privately-owned in Moosomin, while four seniors' apartment buildings are managed by the Moosomin Housing Authority.

One privately-owned block has twelve units consisting of one one-bedroom unit and eleven two-bedroom units. The other private block has ten units: two are one-bedroom, four are two-bedroom, and four are three-bedroom.

The Moosomin Housing Authority has eighteen duplex units for rent at $440.00 per month. The Moosomin Housing Authority also has thirty-five family houses and one, twelve unit, two-bedroom family apartment building. Rent costs vary according to income. There are also four seniors' buildings, which contain sixty-nine suites and four seniors' duplexes.

The price range for a good three-bedroom house is from $119,000 to $300,000 or more, and the price range for a new home can exist from $265,000 and up. Residential lots purchase for approximately $200-$250 per frontage foot.

Wapella

There are approximately fifteen to twenty houses available for purchase or rent in Wapella. Selling prices generally range from $35,000 to $60,000. Rent varies from $200.00 to $250.00 per month, depending on the size of the house. Available houses vary in age and size. There is a senior citizens' apartment with fourteen units available. There are also low rental housing units available in the town.

Welwyn

There are no apartment units in Welwyn, but there are modest homes available from $40,000 and up. Seniors' housing units are available. Lots are readily available at low cost and are quite large. The village offers attractive country style living, combined with small town facilities.

Special Care Homes

The Eastern Saskatchewan Pioneer Lodge and Nursing Home, located at 506 and 405 Windover Avenue, respectively, is next to the hospital and the doctor's clinic in Moosomin. This is a sixty-eight-bed facility with all the modern necessities required for excellent care. Home Care services are also available.

Seniors' Housing

Moosomin has many senior citizens' housing developments; Centennial Manor, Kin Place, Sterling Manor, Knotty Pine, Willowdale, and three duplex homes.
