EducationThe region’s school division is South East Cornerstone School Division No. 209. Officially formed January 1,2006, the division is composed of the former Moosomin School Division No. 9 and six surrounding divisions amalgamated into one division. The new division serves 42 schools and includes approximately 8,014 students enrolled to date. South East Cornerstone School Division No. 209 is divided into six subdivisions. Moosomin School Division became subdivision #1, consisting of Moosomin, Wapella and Rocanville. Carol Flynn, who is also the Vice-Chair of the South East Cornerstone School Division, represents the region. SchoolsThree schools are contained within the Gateway REDA region. The town of Moosomin holds two schools: MacLeod Elementary School (grades K-5) and McNaughton High School (grades 6-12). Wapella also has its own school for grades K-9, Wapella School. Wapella students in grades 10-12 attend McNaughton High School in Moosomin. Each of the schools has excellent facilities with modern resource centers, gymnasiums, labs, computer education programs and up-to-date audio-visual equipment. Each school has a full-time secretary employed in the school office. An active extra-curricular program offers such activities as sports, drama, yearbook, band and others.

Community CollegeThe South East Regional Community College provides Adult Education classes in the area. Classes are taught in the evenings or on weekends with most classes being held in Moosomin's local school facilities. The college has an office in Whitewood and the head office is located in Weyburn. A wide variety of classes are offered, ranging from university courses, vocational courses, and/or hobby classes.
Day CarePlayFair Daycare opened their new facility on November 26th, 2007. The larger facility currently has 26 children enrolled, with a total of 40 expected in January, and employs seven people. PlayFair Daycare's non-profit volunteer board fundraised for years to make the $400,000 project a reality. The Gateway REDA assisted the PlayFair Daycare with its expansion to a new facility, which now houses a larger daycare. The new facility is a two-story, child-friendly building. The main floor will house the PlayFair Daycare operation, and the upstairs will be rented by the local Kinettes Club, where they operate a Kids College and Playschool program (Sask. Ministry of Interprise & Innovation Opportunities Magazine, March 2008).
