Summer

Summers in the region are hot and dry with the occasional afternoon or evening thundershower. The area's average of yearly sunshine hours is one of the highest in all of Canada. Daytime temperatures from May to August range from 2 to 32°C (68 - 90°F). Evening and nighttime temperatures typically cool slightly. Average rainfall for the summer is approximately 35.4 cm (13 7/8 inches).

Winter

Winter typically begins in November and ends in early March, and it is often cold and snowy. Winter temperatures occasionally rise to slightly above freezing, but also dip to -30°C (-22°F) at times. Average snowfall is approximately 110 cm (43 3/8 inches).
